200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

For the Cocktail (makes 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin

200ml clementine cordial (as made above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Directions

For the Cordial: Put all the ingredients in a pot, bring to a simmer, stirring so the sugar melts. After that, take off the burner allowing it to reach room temperature entirely. Decant to a sealable bottle, cap it and refrigerate it in the refrigerator, where it will keep for about one month.

To make Premix: Pour all the spirits and syrup into one sizeable container, let it rest for one hour, then pass it through , ideally through muslin, to ensure it's completely strained.

When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of the cocktail base into your stirring glass packed with ice, and stir gently for one minute until cold. Strain to a cold coupe glass or equivalent, garnish with some cranberries adding the final touch with a brief mist of the essential oil over the drink.
